Our program is designed to equip you with the skills and knowledge you need to succeed in the natural hair industry. As Tennessee’s first freestanding Natural Hair Care School, we offer an unparalleled educational experience that prepares you for a career in both natural hair salons and full-service salons. Join us for our Spring '24 Day program and embark on your journey to a fulfilling career in the natural hair industry. Our program, designed under Tennessee's Apprenticeship Model, offers a comprehensive 15-week curriculum that covers both classroom instruction and supervised salon experience. Our experienced instructors will teach you the latest techniques in Natural Hair Care, Braiding Techniques, Extensions, Natural Hair Care Products, and more. Become a professional in the field and make your mark in the industry. Join our Night program starting in Fall '24 and take the first step towards a rewarding career. The Natural Hair Stylist License covers many techniques that include: twisting, wrapping, weaving, extending, locking, braiding, thermal styling, setting, and scalp treatments to retain hair and prevent hair loss. The program does not include the application of dyes, reactive chemicals or other preparation to alter the color or straighten, curl, or alter the structure of the hair. In total, natural hair students must complete 300 hours of coursework to prepare for licensure. Tuition for the program is only $3300. This is a hybrid class, the first 7.5 weeks (150 hours) will be online and upon completion students will have the opportunity to take the Tennessee State Board Theoretical Exam. Upon passing the theory exam, students will then transition in the salon environment to complete the their training (150) hours. *The Institute of Beauty is an out-of-pocket program, we do not offer/accept financial aid.* Class Schedule Night Class: Monday- Thursday 5:45 PM - 9:45 PM Enrollment Requirements To enroll please bring: $300 Registration Fee *non-refundable* Government Issued ID​/Driver's License Social Security Card High School Diploma/ G.E.D. Associated Fees $300 Registration Fee *non-refundable* $500 Student Kit (Includes ​Kit, School T-shirt) $150 State Board Testing In order to enroll into a weekly or biweekly payment plan a 50% deposit of the total cost of tuition is required.

Cancellation Policy

The enrollment fee is NON-REFUNDABLE. The fee is transferable if used within one year of the original start.
